A resume builder that is actually free

“Free” usually means free until the download button. This one lets you build, score and export without paying — so here is exactly what costs nothing, what needs an account, and what Pro is for, before you spend an hour on it.

How it works

  1. Start from a template, an example, or the resume you have Twenty-nine templates, a set of worked examples you can edit into your own, or upload a PDF or Word file and carry on from there. Nothing is retyped.
  2. Write it with the score in front of you Paste the job description and the match score moves as you edit, scored across five dimensions. You are not guessing whether a change helped.
  3. Export a PDF Real selectable text in a single readable order, which is what an applicant tracking system needs. An account is needed to export, because that is what ties the document to you.

What is free, said plainly

Why most free resume builders are not

The common pattern is to let you build the whole thing and then ask for a card at the download — by which point you have spent an hour and the sunk cost does the selling. The second pattern is a watermark, which is the same trick with an extra step.

Neither is here. The reason is simple enough: a resume builder is worth paying for when you are applying to a lot of jobs and want the AI to do the rewriting, not because the export button is held hostage. Charging for the part that costs nothing to provide just teaches people to screenshot the preview.

Common questions

Is it really free, or free until I try to download?
Free through the download. You create an account to export, which costs nothing and needs no card, and the PDF comes out without a watermark.
What do I need an account for?
Saving a resume so you can come back to it, keeping more than one, and using the AI features. Building and scoring work without one.
What does Pro actually add?
A larger monthly allowance of AI requests — the rewriting, the tailoring and the interview questions. Everything that runs in your browser is free regardless of plan.
Will the PDF survive an applicant tracking system?
That is what the templates are built for: selectable text in one readable order, no tables or text boxes for a parser to lose. The ATS score tells you how the content reads once the format is out of the way.
Can I upload the resume I already have?
Yes — PDF, Word, plain text or Markdown. It is parsed in your browser, the file never leaves your device, and you carry on editing rather than starting again.
Do you sell my data?
No. Your resume is stored against your account so you can reopen it, and is not sold, shared or used to train a model.
